The Council is attending the building show in Herning – HI Building & Trade 2002

40.000 people are expected to visit the exhibition from 10 to 14 September

09-09-2002

After the positive experiences with the Dan-Miljø 2002 in April, where many visitors were calling at the PVC Information Council stand, the Council decided to once again attend an exhibition, which is now the HI Building & Trade 2002 show in Herning. Contrary to the environment exhibition, where, naturally, it were mostly people from the waste sector, who visited the exhibition, now the HI Building & Trade 2002 show directs the trades who decide whether to choose PVC in building or not.

In order to inform the visitors on the PVC material’s important role in the building and trade industry the PVC Information Council Denmark has issued a folder that in a short form describes as well the technical, economical as the environmental advantages the PVC material offers the building industry. Various brochures, that describe the Voluntary Commitment Programme, Vinyl 2010, of the European PVC industry, are also available at the stand. At the “tower walls” there are eight, big, new PVC bill-boards with photos of the many different kinds of PVC applications in the building industry.

The PVC Information Council’s attendance at the Herning show has been made possible with sponsorships from the European raw material producer’s trade organisation, ECVM, and from Norsk Hydro. A number of Danish member companies have also made contributions of various sizes: Nordisk Wavin A/S, Primo Denmark A/S, Plastmo A/S, Maersk Medical A/S, DanHill Plast A/S, KWH Plast, Totax Plastic A/S, Stigsnaes Industimilj A/S, Tarkett Sommer A/S, Duratex A/S, Shin Etsu PVC, Kibæk Presenning and LMT-gruppen. To attract the visitor’s attention to our stand we will be playing vinyl records on an oldfashioned, portable gramophone, and on a video screen we will inform about a big American building project, Habitat For Humanity, where PVC plays a significant role. A video will also tell about the importance of PVC pipes when it comes to the procurement of clean drinking water to people in the third world.

At the stand the famous Danish IQ-lamp, made of PVC, designed by Holger Strøm, will be the prize of a competition among the visitors. The lamp is donated by IQlight.

At the stand the chairman of the PVC Information Council Denmark, Niels Bøjgaard, Norsk Hydro Denmark, the Director of the council, Ole Grøndahl Hansen, and Assistant to the Director, Martina Preysz, will be present from Tuesday 10 to Saturday 14 September. Free admission tickets to the exhibition can be obtained on the PVC Information Council Denmark’s telephone +45 3330 8630.
