![]() The Organization, which counts 34 member companies, is called PVC4Pipes 07-04-2003 In a number of applications PVC is still the preferred material for pipe systems. In order to maintain this trend, a number of stakeholders within the PVC pipe industry has formed a new European organization to promote the technical development and the marketing of pipe systems in PVC. The manufacturers are convinced that it is the ability of the industry to renew itself, that will be decisive as to whether PVC pipes will also be preferred in the future. The member companies of the organization count as well raw material manufacturers as pipe manufacturers, manufacturers of engines, suppliers of additives and industry organizations. For the next two yeard the board of directors consists of representatives of Crompton, Baerlocher, Uralita, Dyka, EVC, Hydro Polymers, Atofina and SolVin. Representatives from TEPPFA and ECVM are attending board meetings as advisors. Hydro Polymers’ representative in the board of directors, Ole Kristian Hagen, is acting as director of the organization. In order to be able to live up to the targets, PVC4Pipes is organized in a number of working groups, that have specialized in renewal, standardizing and promoting of PVC pipes and also in the representation of the organization at exhibitions and conferences. “No doubt”, Bruno van der Wielen from SolVin says, who is president for PVC4Pipes “the formation of this new organization will start a new era in the development of PVC pipe system in the market”.
